About Parklands
Parklands Gold Coast is a non-profit orgainisation which is administered by State Government appointed Trustees. The complex is a large multi-use facility situated only 5kms from the Southport CBD and covers an area of 38 hectares (94 acres).
After a five year planning and development period, Parklands Gold Coast was officially opened on the 8th December 1988
and the first race meeting was held on the 13th December
that year. Since 1993, Parklands has, and is currently
carrying out various developments to ensure that we have
the best possible building and showsgrounds facilities.
“We wish to advise that Parklands Gold Coast will close on 30th September 2013. This is to make way for the completion of the Athletes Village for the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the further development of the Health and Knowledge Precinct.”
